Merridonna Perez, Teaching Artist at Lorenzo DeZavala Elementary is this month’s SEL Guiding Principles Superstar for Engagement. Merridonna consistently strives to meet her students where they are and elevate them. She definitely drives her students learning experience by creating new and innovative ways to engage the students with the curriculum.
She is able to adapt easily when she needs to and is constantly on the move to keep the attention and foster the growth of our youngest scholars. She produces film and also teaches the students about film. The students learn about different social emotional learning topics like Empathy and Handling Name Calling. DeZavala is thrilled to have her apart of their team.
