Bayles – The Principal, Mrs. Kennedy, put a system in place for new teachers to learn about SEL and PSELI. The campus champion (Mrs. Nelson) and school counselor (Mrs. Moon) met with new teachers throughout the year to ensure they had materials and tools they needed and to be high-quality SEL practitioners.

DeZavala – DeZavala has made great progress with teaching Sanford Harmony lessons. They ended the year in Unit 5 with a focus on learning skills to improve relationships. One outstanding teacher remarked, “My students have acquired so many wonderful skills and have put them to use throughout the year.” (Ines Hita, Grade 3 Teacher)

Silberstein – Students are learning strategies to recognize and manage their emotions in challenging situations. The Counselor, Ms. Stitt, recognized a need to have a place to refocus in common areas of the school and set up a Refocus Zone in the cafeteria. Students love being able to have a place to transition from high activity to a more focused state for learning. Way to go, Silberstein team!

Webster – Shout out to the teachers and students at Webster, who have engaged in daily brain breaks for the whole year, which helped bring focus and calm to all involved. Also, after only two years, Dallas Afterschool certified the Thriving Minds After School program at Webster! Congrats team!

Weiss – Congratulations for attaining the Lighthouse Certification, a highly-regarded standard set by FranklinCovey. This certification is awarded to schools that demonstrate outstanding results in school and student outcomes by implementing the process with fidelity and excellence. Weiss joins the ranks of over 300 schools around the world that have earned Lighthouse certification by meeting the criteria included here.

SELWeb Coordinators – BIG thanks to all campus SELWeb Coordinators — we appreciate your efforts organizing student SELWeb assessments and supporting our data collection!  We couldn’t have done it without your help!
