Creating a safe and welcoming environment is essential to student’s success. Fifth grade teacher, Ms. Garcia at Edwin J. Kiest Elementary is this month’s SEL Guiding Principles Environment Superstar. At all SEL Dallas PSELI sites the campuses are equipped with flexible seating options for our learners to maximize student engagement. Ms. Garcia has masterfully organized her flexible seating so that her students can pick out their seating option for the most optimal comfort.
On any given day, you will see students engaged in their learning while using a stability ball or a wobble seat. One day you might even catch her taking advantage of the nontraditional seating options.
