Overview

Have you ever faced a challenge that was really difficult and thought to yourself, “I’m too young to be able to do that!” Or maybe you have heard an adult say, “I’m too old to learn that.” This can happen from time to time but the truth is, our brains are never too young and never too old to learn! Perseverance means not giving up or continuing to do something until you are finished despite obstacles and difficulties. Perseverance means you don’t quit. When completing a difficult activity, you may have felt frustrated, angry, sad, hopeless, or wanted to give up. It is important that in those moments, we don’t give up, but find a way to just keep pushing forward. People with lots of perseverance tend to be very successful in life because they keep pushing for their dreams, even when it feels hopeless. Take some time this week to work on something that feels hard and difficult. When you feel like giving up, remind yourself that you can do it, take a few deep breaths, and keep working. One day you will get there, as long as you never give up!
